Summer 2017 All Access Birthday Bash

Registration closes today

Quarterly event hosted by Kinetic Kids and All Access Promotions & Entertainment for children 8+ in Champions and Allstars. Enjoy a birthday party with a limo ride, photo booth, DJ and dancing, lunch, cake & more!


Summer 2017 Musical Theatre

Registration closes in 2 days

Combines theatre, music and dance, concluding with a performance on the final day. Participants must be able to tolerate 3 hours of activity with staff/volunteers and be independent with snacks and bathroom.


Summer 2017 Wrestling

Registration closes in 3 days

Participants learn beginner wrestling positions, skills, and moves in a safe environment. Strong trunk control and ability to participate in standing or tall kneel is required.


Summer 2017 Basketball

Registration closes in 4 days

Players learn FUNdamentals of the sport through skills, drills, and scrimmaging.


Summer 2017 Tennis

Registration closes in 5 days

Players are taught tennis strokes and game play. Athletes must be able to hold their own racket and swing independently.


Summer 2017 Competitive Swim

Developed for children ages 6-22 who have a physical or intellectual disability, are able to compete without volunteer assistance, possess skill and desire to compete at higher level, and meet sport-specific criteria. To qualify, athletes must successfully complete an Allstar program or be identified by staff. Common diagnoses: cerebral palsy, amputees, Asperger’s, Down syndrome, spinal cord injuries and other neurological disorders.

Summer 2017 XTREME Swim

Developed for children ages 6-22 who have only a physical disability, are able to compete without volunteer assistance, possess skill and desire to compete at higher level, and meet sport-specific criteria. To qualify, athletes must successfully complete an Allstar program or be identified by staff. Common diagnoses: cerebral palsy, amputees, spina bifida and spinal cord injuries.

July 2017 Dive/Jump Clinic

A 4 week clinic that will focus on platform diving and jumping and concludes with a fun Kinetic Kids competition. Swimmers must be age 8 and up able to: 1) Jump comfortably into a pool with depths of 8 to 16 feet; 2) Swim 10 meters across pool in depths greater than 8 feet and up to 20 feet, without volunteer support; 3) Demonstrate independent safety awareness and follow safety rules on deck & in the pool; 4) Participate in a group activity independently, without volunteer support.

If your child meets all of the above criteria, please COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION and plan to join us on July 10th at 3pm for Dive/Jump Tryouts.

If you participated in the Kinetic Kids Dive/Jump clinic last summer, you do NOT need to attend the mandatory try out date.

Summer 2017 Gymnastics

Kinetic Kids Gymnasts explore trampoline, bars, beam, vault and floor.


Summer 2017 Football Clinic

Football program focuses on skill acquisition including throwing, passing, kicking as well as scrimmaging.


Summer 2017 Swimming

Swimming: Allows children to explore water in a safe, controlled environment & progress swimming skills.


Competitive CrossFit 2017

This is an advanced adaptive crossfit class for the serious competitors ages 11 and older! The class will focus on improving muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility in a typical class structure. This class is ONLY for athletes with special needs who can participate without one to one volunteer support & has ability to retain skill & safety awareness week to week. There will be in & out of town competitions and selection to these competitions is at the discretion of the Adapted crossfit coaches.


2017 Competitive/XTREME Sports Interest List (tryouts - TBD)

We offer programs that require additional screening questions, experience, and/or tryouts. If you would like to get more information about one of these programs, we ask you answer questions about your child. You will get more information as it becomes available.

Note: Placing your child's name on the interest list does not guarantee admission to these programs. As always, our Champions and Allstar divisions are also great options for fun, sport, and peer interaction. Many do not require additional "eligibility" criteria.

Summer 2017 Stroke Clinic

Registration is closed

Stroke Clinic is designed for independent swimmers seeking to perfect their swim strokes and move up to the next level of swimming. Swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards independently and must be able to perform 2 swim strokes without assistance (front crawl/backstroke/freestyle). This program will not utilize volunteer support.


2017 XTREME Track and Field Endeavor Training

The Xtreme division offers the next level of coaching and programming for competitive athletes. Designed for athletes with both the skill and the desire to compete at a higher level, participation is based upon sport-specific criteria. Contact register@kinetickidstx.org for questions.


Summer 2017 Cheer

Cheerleaders will learn how to tumble, jump, dance and cheer ending with a finale to show off what we have learned.

Kinetic Kids offers year round, comprehensive group programs for children with special needs with physical and cognitive disabilities!  The sports and recreation programs run in four seasons including Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

  • Kinetic Kids offers sports programs, art and music programs, and educational programs.
  • Each season provides a different line-up of programs.
  • Most programs run once a week for 30 minutes to 1 hour for 6-8 weeks.
  • We also offer 1 day special events such as outdoor explorer and educational programs.
  • Programs are designed and facilitated under the guidance of physical and occupational therapists.

 

Kinectic Kids has customized divisions to best meet the needs of children with a wide variety of diagnoses in a group environment.  Divisions include Allstar, Champions, Parent and Me, and Competitive.
